Scanning physical artworks or signages as QR codes, people can explore animated digital Meringues layering physical environments. Meringue for West Hollywood, for example, a special AR filter was developed to continue the popular West Hollywood Halloween Carnival which was canceled during the pandemic. When people scanned the physical signage on site with their smartphones, floating Meringue ghosts popped up and spun around amongst physical Meringues and the immediate surroundings.
Meringue Ganggangsullae(강강술래) was created as a special edition for KIAF x Frieze Art Fair in Seoul, South Korea 2022. A photograph of Meringue Gyeongbok Palace is used as a QR code to initiate an AR filter of Meringue dancing to ganggangsullae, which is a traditional dance movement during the Korean Thanksgiving celebration.
